Regular Season Round 12: Ilirija - Vienna 94-80

Very important is a road loss of third ranked AustrianBC Vienna (2-8) against fourth ranked Slovenian Ilirija (3-8) on Saturday night. Visiting BC Vienna was defeated by Ilirija in Ljubljana 94-80 . It was a key game for the second position in the league. Ilirija made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian center Boban Marjanovic (224-1988) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and American point guard Wendell Green Jr (180-2002, college: Auburn) who added 16 points and 7 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) during the contest. Four Ilirija players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American-Guinean guard Souley Boum (190-1999, college: Xavier) with 13 points and Slovenian Gregor Glas (197-2001) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ilirija moved-up to second place, which they share with Split and Mega BG. Vienna lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost.
